Success factors and challenges for sustainable implementation abroad
“Commercial apprenticeships largely in English”
In the summer of 2015, the Office for Vocational Education and Training in the Canton of Zug introduced new commercial apprenticeships for business administration and information technology largely in English.
Within the Office for Vocational Education and Training in the Canton of Zug, Bruno Geiger is Project Manager of a project that involves developing and implementing commercial apprenticeships conducted largely through English in conjunction with the Swiss Federal Vocational Education and Training (VET) Diploma (first years in management and IT – commencing summer 2015).
The Canton of Zug hopes that this project will create an additional service for young people interested in languages, while also helping Switzerland’s dual-track system of vocational education and training achieve greater recognition and involving Swiss companies with an international outlook and multinationals to a greater degree in vocational education and training.
